Matakishi's Tea House

A simple little site...

This year's Matakishi's Tea Party will be held on Saturday September 22nd at the Bishop David Brown School, Albert Drive, Surrey, Woking, GU21 5RF (same venue as last year).

The Metal Matakishi above is plated in 22ct gold, there are still some available so visitors to the Tea Party will be able to claim one this year as well. As always I have to thank Mike Broadbent for sculpting him and organising his new shiny coat for me.

There will be the usual mix of games, food and good company and everyone is welcome. If you'd like to attend please let me know by leaving a comment below, using the contact tab on the right of your screen or by emailing me at

If you'd like to host a game, don't be shy, we still have room.

A report of last year's event can be found here.

When you arrive at the school these front doors will be open:

Inside, turn immediately left and head down the short corridor (past the handy toilets) to the room at the end where the Tea Party is taking place.

I'll be running my Zulu War game.

Here are some shots of my game on the day. We had two goes at the Rorke's Drift siege with a win for both sides and then moved the game onto an open table to see if the rules held up with the British denied a cover advantage. Mostly they got wiped out.

Mike Lewis from Black Hat Miniatures will be running Strange Aeons and, if you like the game, you can buy it from Mike on the day.

The game went down well and, although I didn't get to play it, I've bought a set based on recommendations on the day. Here's a shot of the set up from Kevin Dodman.

Mark Bush baked a fine coffee and walnut cake for the occasion.

Malamute, Jimbibbly and Dr De'Ath put on a VSF game set on Mars (photos from them also).

Captain Blood and Silent Invader put on a Wars of the Roses game. Photos from the Captain himself.

And now for some shots of the people themselves without whom there would have been no fun at all. There are a couple of me as well for which I appologise in advance.
