Rezolution, a Dark Tomorrow
According to the publishers, Aberrant Games:
Rezolution is a fast paced, cinematic miniature battles game set in an original science fiction universe, with a revolutionary simultaneous play and story based missions.
Sounds good to me, here's the background:
2175: A Dark Tomorrow
Welcome to the 22nd Century
Earth has become a dystopian nightmare, ruled by corrupt corporations and self-serving politicians, where the wealthy elite live in sealed cities to protect themselves from the ravages of the outside world.
In the outer cities and wastelands gangs rule the streets with an iron fist, while worse terrors lurk in the dark corners of the earth.
Industrial espionage has reached unprecedented levels, where small teams of elite warriors infiltrate rival companies to steal or spread mayhem, fighting in the real and virtual world. These invisible wars rage unopposed from the streets of Earth to the mountains of Mars in a deadly game of winner takes all.
A new phase in the evolution of mankind has begun, though shunned by many and branded mutants, their numbers are growing.
The embattled forces of order, desperately trying to achieve peace and stability throughout the system, while fighting the corruption from within.
Something has been discovered on Mars, as humanity teeters on the brink of interstellar civil war.
But man has not abandoned his pioneering spirit and thirst for knowledge; huge colony ships have spread throughout the stars searching for new worlds and intelligent life.
Not knowing it has already found us…
The Factions
The CSO
The field arm of Unipol, the Central Security Organization, operates as the world’s military and judiciary force, and its mandate covers everything from investigating corporate and street crime to keeping members safe from rogue nations. Though they often find themselves at odds with Unipol bureaucrats and face a conspiracy of corruption because there are those within the organization who would bury cases rather than risk losing their funding, they will sometimes take the law into their own hands to carry out justice. The CSO are the last hope for justice and order in a deadly universe. Part detective, part policeman and all soldier, the CSO will hold the thin blue line at any cost.
APAC
Asia-Pacific, the world’s first incorporated state, blend honor and tradition with state-of- the-art technology. APAC not only dominate the world of business, but also the invisible conflicts that wage across the system. As one of the most targeted entities for espionage and sabotage, their forces are some of the largest and best equipped, while it is rumored their ‘internal security force’ is greater in number than the CSO’s standing force. The APAC ops crews are deadly fighters and combined with the explosive psychic powers of the Arashi almost unstoppable.
The Dravani
The Dravani arrived on earth ‘somewhat accidentally’ centuries ago and have lived (and fed!) while disguising their true nature from man. Over the years they have built an Empire but, though powerful, are still few compared to the billions swarming around them. They know humanity would not look kindly upon them, so they have adapted and used man against himself, as it can only be a matter of time before they are revealed to humanity. The Dravani have existed amongst man for millennia, fighting for their races survival, they exist in our legends and our deepest fears, while we exist as their prey…
The Ronin
The Ronin are the third party: invisibles, blanks. They don’t exist within the system and, therefore, make ideal operatives for those who wish to remain anonymous and avoid the wrath of the CSO, a government or a major corporation. Experts at their trade, and picked from the vicious street gangs that roam the outer cities, they are trained to become the ultimate operatives and combatants. Seen as modern day Robin Hoods by many and as dangerous criminals and vigilantes by those in power and authority, the Ronin are yours to mold. You can assemble the force to your particular style of play and tactics as the Ronin are as individual as snowflakes with no two crews the same. Not only do they operate as an individual faction, but they can also be used as Mercs by the others.
The Project
I
first noticed this game when the early teaser pictures of the
miniatures started appearing. The APAC struck a particular chord and I
really couldn't wait to get some. My interest in Science Fiction games
was almost non-existant at the time; I'd sold off all the Sci fi
figures I used to have and wasn't interested in getting any more, or so
I thought. As a range the Rezolution figures are a mixed bag. As more
photos were published I began to cement my ideas about which factions
to get and what to do with them. I put the APAC at the top of my list
and decided on the Dravini as their starting opponents. I added the
Ronin into the mix for variety but couldn't bring myself to like the
CSO figures or the ideas behind the faction. To me, the CSO seemed to
be the least imaginative of the groups, they are just a militarised
Police force. Very American in styling and background and with nothing
to recommend them. A year on this has changed with some excellent
figures coming out which have style and a touch of daring. The new
troopers are almost parodies of muscle bound Good 'ol Boys and the
Peacekeepers are a decent set of armoured troopers. They've been added
to my list.
Before the game arrived I started compiling lists of figures I wanted
to use for it. One of the best things about a game like this is that I
can use whatever figures I want and so I had an excuse to buy from a
wide range of manufacturers and get those figures that I knew I wanted
but previously had no use for. I've amassed figures from Urban War,
Warmachine, War Crow, Dark Age, Void, Dixon, Fenryll, ERM and several
other companies including even Games Workshop. The only real problem
with obtaining figures for the game is the exhorbitant price of the
official releases. Apparently this is going to change soon and make the
strain on my wallet a little less. We'll see.
For the actual project, given the time I had, I decided to produce two
factions to play with and do other figures as time allowed. I completed my APAC and Dravini and managed afew additions too. The main setting for the combat was to be my city which was already built. I bought some diecast futuristic vehicles to add to the ambience and more scenery will be added as time goes on.
There is a seperate article on how I painted my APAC here:

Chuck Rodgers
At GenCon in 2006, Gale Force 9 released some special counters and templates for Rezolution. Although these will be in production and on general release soon, the GenCon ones are 'Special Pre-release Versions' and are therefore sort after. I received a set of both, counters and templates, sent to me all the way from the USA for free from Chuck Rodgers, a Rezolution gamer in Slippery Rock PA. This is a big public THANK YOU to Chuck from me for his wonderful gesture.

Here's a couple of shots showing how the East Riding Corporate figures scale up against other manufacturers' figures. As you can see, they're a little bigger but not too much in my opinion. The naked zombie is from Eureka, the clothed one holding the bone is a Copplestone and the angry Rage zombie is from Westwind.
