Matakishi's Tea House

A simple little site...

April 2008

I completed my Mogadishu project this month by finishing the last of the Britannia Miniatures figures, a Delta Force unit and the crashed Black Hawk and crew. The rest of the month was taken up with painting some urban scenery to go with them. Everything in the bottom picture is from Black Cat Bases. The two post boxes and the Miniature Metal Matakishi were done as extras. Grand total for April: 66.

Despite this April being Salute month I only bought 50 figures, all for existing projects, so the yearly totals are looking good so far.

March 2008

32
Britannia Miniatures modern Americans and three Humvees made up the bulk of March's total. These, my industrial incinerator and three wrecked cars from Old Crow make up a total of 39 figures for the month.

February 2008

66 Britannia Miniatures Somalis and 3 Technicals which make up the complete Militia force and the civilian marker stands for my Mogadishu project were the painting focus for this month. Then, towards the end of February, I made a factory for a change of pace which gives me a grand total of 70 figures this month.

January 2008

A pretty good start to the year, 49 miniatures altogether. There's still a couple of days left in January so I might get 50 done but I'm starting on my Mogadishu figures now so it's unlikely. The picture's a bit rough and ready but there'll be better photos of the miniatures in their respective sections of the site later; I just pushed everything together for the big 'family shot'.

The main contingent is 36 Games Workshop Ghouls which I'm going to use in my Shadowman project and as part of my Red Army in Weird War II (hence the colour).
Also for Shadowman I've added two more bases of Screamers and a Monolith of Pain, all from Pardulon and finished one of the Deadside bosses, Killjoy, that I started at the end of December. Killjoy is from Wyrd Miniatures.

At the front of the group is the Red Skull flanked by two of his genetically engineered bodyguards, all destined to see Weird War II action. The Red Skull is a Black Tree Design figure with a GW skeleton head added and his guards are limited edition and oop Cell Entertainment 1999 figures. The guards will also be used in my Shadowman games.

Next to the Red Skull are the Thompson Twins and Professor Calculus who will be helping their friend Tintin against the Nazi menace as he leads the French Resistance on daring raids. The Thompsom Twins are modified Amazon Miniatures Winston Churchill figures and Professor Calculus is a Westwind London Detective with an added brolly.

Finally, at the back, stands an Iron Giant promotional toy that will be aiding the Allies on the Western Front.
