Matakishi's Tea House

A simple little site...

A lot of figures bought this month but 110 painted so the totals have returned to a better looking balance.

My
Future Wars project saw the addition of a complete Irregular Miniatures Spice Lice contingent supported by some Scotia Grendel hover tanks as well as a small group of repainted plastic D&D rockmen.
My
African Warlord troops were completed with more figures from The Assault Group (vehicles coming soon) with a Reaper Che Guevara to advise them and I added some more Wild Geese from Chiltern to their opposition.
A new
Black Cat Bases Book Golem arrived to combat my Unspeakable Horrors who were themselves bolstered  by the addition of some Heresy grubs and a pair of impressive giant grubs from Gribbly Miniatures.
Finally, for this month, my new Star Trek miniatures arrived from Mike Broadbent.

I bought 38 new miniatures, some of which are already painted above.
The remainder are mainly some Victorian robots which will be completed soon.

June 2010

A bit of catching up this month with a respectable total at the end. I finished my
Britannia Miniatures Simba and moved on to the African Warlord troops from The Assault Group. For a slight change of pace I did a couple of quick creatures to menace Doctor Who or add to my upcoming Sci Fi Pulp project.

A huge buying total including some plastic Daleks and loads of sci fi insects for an upcoming army has ruined the painted to bought ratio but only for a while (I hope).

May 2010

An improvement over last month. I continued with my Britannia Miniatures Simba and then moved on to some creatures from Pardulon and Hasslefree to add to my Unspeakable Horrors set. The tyre stacks are from Old Crow and will be used as burning barricades for my Mogadishu setting.

Most of my buying was assorted grubs and bugs which I hope to get painted up soon.

April 2010

A quiet month for painting. I started my Britannia Miniatures Simba and painted the Dixon bearers for my Tarzan safari group at the same time. I managed to add Black Tree Design's Sarah Jane to my Doctor Who set too (K9 was painted last month).

Despite a trip to SALUTE I managed not to buy too many models this month so the total's still good.

March 2010

A whole bunch of aliens and monsters this month. All of these are heading to my Invasion of the Saucer People
or Future Wars projects.

Miniatures here from
Bronze Age Miniatures, Reaper, East Riding Miniatures, Heresy, Otherworld, Black tree Design and a couple of old D&D plastic and metal miniatures too. Details in the respective sections as always.

I bought quite a bit this month, some are already painted in the pic above but some, notably a load of Boxer rebellion figures, are for an unspecified time in the future. A few more monsters and aliens will appear next month as they're already underway.

February 2010

More Unspeakable Horrors, More Superheroes, some wild dog packs and a Heavy Weapons Dalek this month. Figures from Gripping Beast, Troll Forged Miniatures, Heroclix, Pardulon, Bronze Age Miniatures and others. Details in their respective sections.

I bought a few necessities (aren't they all) for current projects, most of which will be painted in march I hope.

January 2010

Not a bad start to the year, much better than 2009 at any rate. I added figures to Invasion of the Saucer People, Future Wars and Drug Wars. Many of these figures can be used in two or more of those projects making them nice and versatile. Details of the various miniatures and the manufacturers can be found in their respective sections, the selection above contains figures from Hasslefree, Reaper, Black Hat, Copplestone, Heresy, Black Cat Bases, Old Crow, Rafm and others.

Purchasing this month was restricted to many of the above and some others destined to be painted very soon (actually, since it's the second week of February as I write this, I know they're already done )
