Matakishi's Tea House

This is a simple quest that’s easy to accomplish and has decent rewards. It’s designed for brand new Omni players and can be handled almost as soon as you leave the backyard, so long as you have made enough credits to buy the Whisky (see later).

Mr. Blake hangs around Rome Blue Basic Store, (RBB as it is known). The shop is to the north of Rome Blue and invariably surrounded by crowds, you can’t miss it.

Should you not be able to find it, ask someone, everyone knows where it is.
Once you find him, strike up a conversation…

Make sure you stay for the end of the conversation and find out about the whiskey.



You will receive a new mission and a  Radio Transceiver to deliver to Lt. Echholt at Omni Barracks.

OK, now it’s time to head off to the Omni Barracks. Go West out of Rome Blue and find the Whompa tower on your side of the lake, it’s in the middle of the main Rome Blue wall that you just passed through, you’ll have to turn either North or South, depending on which exit you took from the city.
Go through the door for Omni Entertainment.

Once you arrive in Omni Entertainment run round to the other door in this Whompa tower, labelled Omni Trade and go through.

Once in Omni Trade you must find a bar, there’s one in the centre, near where you emerge, under an awning. Buy your whisky from the bartender; you need the one with the green label.

Back to Omni Entertainment, via Whompa, and then head out of the city using the gate to the East. Once outside, turn right (South) on the pathway and follow it as far as it goes. There’s a chance you may be attacked here but you should be OK as the creatures are low level. If you happen to loot any pieces of ‘undamaged rubbery Rollerrat flesh’ hang onto them for another quest.

When you get to the end of the path you turn east and go through the gates into Omni Forest. Follow the road round to your right to the Barracks. The  Barracks should be marked on your planet map (called up by pressing ‘P’) so check this occasionally to make sure you’re heading in the right direction.

You need to find Lt. Echholt, he is standing by the big dish, and start a conversation with him.

After giving him the Radio Transceiver you will receive your mission reward; a super-duper Omni Training Helmet (more on this later), keep talking though and you will get a new mission, allowing you to give him the whiskey and receive a fantastic Omni-Armed Forces Assault pack as well.

The Omni-Armed Forces Assault pack can’t be used to store items but it adds 60 to all your AC and 1 to all weapon skills.

The OT Armed Forces Training Helmet is pretty good too, excellent headwear for a young up-and-coming Omni employee. However, if you find a higher level character and ask nicely, you may get an Omnifier off them which you can combine with it to make a Modified OT Armed Forces Training Helmet which is much better (and black).
