Felix
Felix joined us today, Friday September 29th 2006. He is eight weeks old. I don't know anything else about him yet so I'll add stuff as he grows. He has extra fingers on his front paws which makes him special. As usual we got him from the Cat's Rescue.

is un-cropped and makes a brilliant desktop background for a discerning
person like yourself.
Now that Felix has been with us for a year and a half I have had time to count his fingers and toes. He has extra thumbs on his front paws and six toes on each back paw!

Pippy
Pippy is Felix's sister and arrived today with him. She doesn't have extra fingers but she's still special.

PookieBear
PookieBear is 17 years old at the moment, she was born in 1989.
She's a bit old now and forgets things, like how to use a cat flap.
She is Nermal's sister, they are both red tabbys (not ginger).
PookieBear went to join her sister early this morning. She died around 7:00 am on Monday 11th December 2006.
Her passing is a great loss but at least she died at home, naturally, of old age and didn’t suffer. So much better than that last trip to the vets that we have had to endure with some of our other cats.
Pookiebear was the last of our first generation cats and so an era died with her.
Nermal
Nermal is 17, (obviously - she's Pookie's sister.) she was born in 1989 too.
Nermal is very friendly and likes to meet new people.
Sometimes she forgets to go outside to shit. Well, a lot of times actually.
Nermal died today, Saturday July 29th 2006, at 4:45 pm. She will be greatly missed.
The fairly flippant description of Nermal above doesn't do her any justice of course. You can't sum up a creature that's lived with you and been a part of your family for seventeen years in a couple of sentences. She was always lively and talkative and spent most of her time in good weather sitting on our front wall (where she is in the picture above) animatedly talking to any passers by. I don't think it will just be my family that misses her.
It is a difficult thing to lose a well-loved pet. I know through experience that the hurt will fade and eventually disappear leaving only the happy memories but at the moment I am still expecting her to appear demanding food and it is a very empty house without her around.
