Matakishi's Tea House

A simple little site...

The pictures below are screen captures from Anarchy Online. Clicking on each of the pictures will access are large, full size, version so you can see the details better. There are many, many more sights in the game than my paltry selection but I hope these will give you a taste of what the game has to offer and encourage you to give it a try. The basic game is completely free to play.

30.08.2008 Penumbra
Dragged into Penumbra with promises of great xp gains and interesting sites Ion embarked on the fairly simple garden key quest which took all over the frosty realm. On her travels she came across this Yuttos encampment at the edge of a forest; very picturesque.

25.08.2008 Shadowlands
Ion's not a fan of Shadowlands, her nano forulae don't work properly and she has to run everywhere because her vehicles won't function there either.
However, there's items worth having and the scenery is often spectacular, so recently she made an effort to explore the Shadowlands further.
She completed the quests for the keys to
gardens and sanctuaries in both Scheol and Adonis which at least means she has a safe refuge and access to the teleporters when she's out and about. Here are some snapshots of her on her travels. My new monitor is wide screen so the pictures are in a different aspect ratio than previously. As always, clicking on the small image will bring up a larger version.

Scheol is a rocky, barren place that's hard to traverse. Strange and ancient Xan machinery long unattended but still throbbing with power litters the landscape.

There are some slightly more pleasant spots in Scheol. The beauty of this one is lsightly marred by the fact you have to wade through giant spiders to reach it.

Beyond Scheol is Adonis, reached by crossing a natural stone bridge spanning a chasm, the entrance overlooked by an animated but unfinished Xan colossus.

Large areas of Adonis are underwater. Luckily breathing aparatus is provided by Ergo at the entry portal. As you can see, I've swapped my stuffy Bureaucrat suit for a snazzy bikini.

What isn't underwater seems to be covered in snow. I'm beginning to wish for my stuffy Bureaucrat suit back. I may have to turn the sabretooth into a fur coat when he's finished killing stuff for me.

Once I'd secured the keys I needed I took some time out to journey back to Elysium and spawn some Pocket bosses with a friend so we could slaughter them for their loot, mostly sought-after symbiants. Randulf and I managed a decent haul between us in a very short time.

As a break from Shadowlands I spent some time taking the fight back to the alien invaders. Here I am on one of their ships with an alien centaur that I managed to persuade to turn on his friends.

16.06.2008 Aliens invade Rome Blue!
Ever since I witnessed an alien mother ship filling the skies over Athens Shire a month ago I knew they'd be coming at us in force before too long.

Today in Rome I heard the ominous rumble that had heralded the mother ship and sure enough, before too long, the public address system was blaring out warnings that the aliens were here.
They came in wave after wave, arriving in their green teleport beams. Each wave was meaner and tougher than the last, until I was outclassed and sent to reclaim. After the second trip in quick succession I had to just watch as the high level inhabitants of Rubi-ka finally put paid to the last of them.

Here I am doing my bit against the alien sub-commander just before I was killed.

On a slightly more personal note, this was the first fighting my new robotic bodyguard experienced. I'm pleased to say he kept going even when I was killed and was there to greet me with a cheery 'hello' as I emerged from reclaim each time. I've decided to call him Felix after my little cat because, like his namesake, he is black and has thumbs. No doubt Felix and I will have many happy adventures together in the years to come.

29.05.2008
I've been playing quite a lot recently, mainly concentrating on Ionbutterfly my Bureaucrat character who I haven't played for a long time and was due for some attention. Progress has been steady and I've obtained or made all the bureaucrat items I'll need for the next fifty levels or so. Below is a picture of Ion from 2003 when she was level 18. The room is a mission generated one.

Here is Ion a few days ago at level 89. I came across the same room again so I thought it would be a good excuse to chart her progress. Hopefully this same room will reappear at regular intervals in her adventuring life so I can repeat this in the future.

Real Life friends make the best virtual friends too.

An online meeting of Frothers.

Matakishi's colourful new look.

Inside an alien ship.

Inside a Shadowlands temple.

Halloween 2007 is upon us and Rubi-Ka is bathed in scary lighting. Here I am, illuminated by my 'Fists of Fire' and my demon torch (which is doing a good job of making Edward, my Rollerat balloon look scary too!)

That same night... This is Newland, a neutral city. I am talking to Invaleet, my leet pet. In the background is Draculeet who is handing out Halloween missions to the inhabitants of Rubi-Ka.

That's me on the right, the flying bug thing. A Halloween transformation so I can join in the festivities.

One of my new jet bikes, I bought three from the selection offered in the new 'paid for' content and a hover board.

Beating up Neleb the Deranged so my low level friend can loot his much sought after magic robe. The larger picture this links to was taken a second later so the blue nano effect has dissipated and things are a bit clearer.

Overflying Harry's Outpost.

A close up of me in the cockpit of my large mech. The mech is crouched down in this pic which is why it's near to the ground.

A party at Leet's Retreat. Many old friends from Ring of Destruction in this pic.

Overflying some Clan cities.

Fighting the second wave of aliens during one of their raids.

My younger self soloing Abmouth at the bottom of the Subway dungeon. He killed me of course but it was close.

The various widows that are involved in getting a mission from a mission terminal.

Trash King (the big robot in the background) just before we descend on him to kill him again. Trash King is big and hard and you need to kill him for the famous shoulder pads quest.

A very young me (level 7) managed to sneak into the Temple of Three Winds ahead of time only to be confronted by the giant Guardian of Tomorrow where he shouldn't be. Some uncaring player had trained it to this early room. I died.

Some of my current org mates gathered in Shadowlands.
